Michelle Rhee: “I am not pursuing a position with the [Trump] Administration”

November 22, 2016

Controversial former DC chancellor Michelle Rhee tweeted on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, that she would not “pursue” becoming the next US secretary of education. (Rhee met with Trump on Saturday, November 19, 2016):

Whatever her reasons for “not pursuing,” it seems that assuming such a prominent position would prompt the press to delve into Rhee’s shady escape from any meaningful investigation into the DC cheating scandal and suspicious rise in test scores under her watch (a rise that dropped once Rhee was gone).

I detail the DC cheating scandal in my book, A Chronicle of Echoes. I have excerpted the portion of my Rhee chapter having to do with the DC test score/ erasure scandal.

Rhee’s husband, Kevin Johnson, also met with Trump on November 19, 2016. Though his background is also scandal-ridden, there is no word as to whether he is being considered for some formal post in the Trump administration.

  1. I don’t think that “not pursuing” means she doesn’t want it.

    She wants to be asked.

For whatever reason, I hope that she stays away from education… period.
