My Two Speaking Engagements in October

September 24, 2014

I will be speaking in Indiana and Maine in October.

On Thursday, October 2, 2014, I will be in North Manchester, Indiana, at Manchester University (Cordier Auditorium, 7 – 8 p.m.). The title of my talk is, “When Education Reform Becomes ‘Erroneous Ideology Well Funded.” I will include information from my book, A Chronicle of Echoes: Who’s Who In the Implosion of American Public Education.

The event is free and is part of MU’s “Values, Ideas, and the Arts” (VIA) offerings that enable MU students to earn credit for attendance. The public is also invited.

On Saturday, October 25, 2014, I will be one of several speakers at the New England Fall-out from Common Core, sponsored by No Common Core Maine and Cornerstone Action, New Hampshire. The event will be in York, Maine, at the York American Legion, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

York, Maine, is only 66 miles north of Boston. (You New Englanders have such tiny states….)

Space is limited. The entrance fee of $10 includes a box lunch.

Sure wish I could make one of the talks, any talk you give. Keep traveling and spread what you know. We’re all behind you and know you fight for all of us.

Will either of these talks be videoed?

Unfortunately, I will be visiting the west coast when you will be within driving distance of my home. I would love to attend the event in Maine. Too bad. Thanks for letting me know about these groups and the event. Is there going to be a broadcast or recording or publication of any kind to let folks know what they are missing in Maine?

Cool! B-days from STPSB, I’m sure.

    • Not at all. STPSB has made their complete lack of support crystal clear: I get three P days, just like everyone else, and then I can take unpaid days– but I must be aware that I could be formally reprimanded if I miss too many– which I am careful not to do.

  5. Any other stops while in Indiana? We need your voice in Indianapolis, which is being hurried along rapidly by a few to a New Orleans style destination for many.

    • Hi, maruegger. Only one stop for me in Indiana. I have to make it short; I teach public school full time.
